2. Open the lid. There
is a red triangle on
the face of the meter.
As long as there is no
water being used, the
triangle should not
spin or move.

IF it is moving, there
is water being lost
through a leak.

Working Hard for You
The Raytown Water Company is a privately
owned utility, regulated by the Missouri Public
service Commission (MPSC). It is currently the
oldest family operated business in Raytown,
providing safe and adequate drinking water to the
residents of Raytown and part of Independence
and Kansas City, Missouri since 1925. The
current President and General Manager is the
third generation of the family to lead the company,
which was founded by Raytown's physician,
Samuel J.T. Davis.

New water main valve installed at the intersection of Blue Ridge Blvd. and Woodson
Rd. January 18, 2008. The blustery wind and snow did not stop our crew from
completing a difficult and mammoth task timely. This insured better water control
for the area such as Hidden Lake Community.

that Neighbors Helping Neighbors is a fund administered by the Mid-
America Assistance Coalition in Kansas City. It's sole purpose is to
provide financial assistance to those struggling to pay their utility
bills. 816-561-2727
you can help your local school by recycling your old newspapers and
magazines. There are PAPER RECYCLE containers located at each
school. The school uses the $ earned to offset the rising costs of
materials needed to maintain the high quality education and help keep
the school taxes down. NOT only are you helping our future generation
with education, you are helping save our environment by recycling.
FUN FACTS ABOUT RECYCLING:

The average American uses seven trees a year in paper, wood,
and other products made from trees. This amounts to about
2,000,000,000 trees per year!
The average household throws away 13,000 separate pieces of
paper each year. Most is packaging and junk mail.
To produce each week's Sunday newspapers, 500,000 trees must
be cut down.

financial assistance to pay Utilities? REAP (Raytown Emergency
Assistance Program) provides food/funds and also accepts donations.

you can help your local school by collecting and donating used ink
cartridges and General Mills product BOX TOPS for Education. The
school redeem the box tops and uses the funds to buy new computers,
books and playground equipment for their students. Funds generated
from the collections help to keep our school taxes down and keep our
education levels up.
